What Is Dismissive Avoidant Attachment In Behavioral Science?

Dismissive avoidant attachment is a subtype of the avoidant attachment style. People with this attachment style may have difficulty forming close bonds with others and may prefer to be alone or independent. They may also have a dismissive attitude towards close relationships, and may downplay the importance of emotional bonds or the need for intimacy in their lives. As a result, they may come across as aloof or detached in their relationships with others.
